INTRODUCTION: Sarah, Plain and Tall is the story of two children, Caleb and Anna, who live on a prairie farm with their father. Papa, whose wife died, puts an ad in the paper for a wife and Sarah from Maine responds to his ad.
Sarah comes to visit the prairie and says she will stay for a month "to see how it is." Everyone falls in love with Sarah and wants her to stay.
