THE TASK:  As you read Sarah, Plain and Tall you will do the following.

Make a journal to record your explorations and activities as you read.

Investigate a group of vocabulary words and enter them in your journal.

Explore character in the story by working with a partner to describe character traits in the story and then use describing words to describe your own character to your partner.

Write a personal reaction for each group of three chapters after your reading.

Answer questions for each group of three chapters and include written entries and illustrations to your journal pages.

Compile a list of wildflowers mentioned in the story and tell how the wildflowers add to the environment.  Put wildflower illustrations in your journal.

Explore seashells and include a page in your journal on seashell names with illustrations.

Write a prediction to tell what you think happens after the story ends.
